COLUMBUS, OH – Jan. 30, 2013 – The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) today denied applications for rehearing filed by the Office of the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel (OCC) and others. In the decision, the PUCO affirmed its Aug. 8, 2012 decision approving American Electric Power’s rate plan.
The following statement can be attributed to Amy Kurt, OCC’s Director of Public Affairs, following today’s decision.
“Ohioans should be benefiting right now from the current low market prices for electricity. Unfortunately, the AEP rate plan is denying consumers that immediate benefit.”
The Ohio Supreme Court hears appeals from PUCO cases.
