The Ohio Consumers' Counsel argued before the Ohio Supreme Court today challenging new electric fees that violate Ohio law. The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) granted utility companies the ability to charge news fees for extending electric to homes not previously connected to the power system. These new fees violate an electric rate cap that began on January 1, 2001 and extends through the end of 2005.
